Lloyd's Syndicates

RUPPL’s facilities are not limited to one Syndicate like so many agencies in today’s market. RUPPL in fact has working relations with no less than (twelve) 12 Syndicates, each providing capacity in various percentages across our (five) 5 facilities. Four key Lloyd’s Syndicates have provided capacity to RUPPL since 2001, two of these (Canopius and Kiln), since our establishment in 1991. This approach provides not only the strongest safety net should a Lloyd’s carrier remove itself from any of our facilities, but also provides direct access to their products, services and risk management tools.

A further security benefit to our clients is that, as a Lloyd’s agent,  we benefit from  the “Lloyd’s Chain of Security” providing excellent financial strength to holders of insurance contracts.

Lloyd’s enjoys strong financial security and every insurance contract is supported by an “A” (Excellent) rating from the rating agency A.M.Best and an “A+” (Strong) rating from Standard & Poor’s AND FITCH RATINGS.

Canopius GROUP LIMITED

Canopius is a privately-owned insurance and reinsurance group which underwrites a diversified portfolio of business from its operations at Lloyd's and around the world. It has achieved significant growth over the last six years through a mix of organic expansion and acquisition, and currently has total financial resources of around £400 million.  Incorporated in Guernsey, Canopius Group Limited is the parent of Canopius Managing Agents Limited at Lloyd’s (CMA). CMA manages Syndicate 4444 on behalf of the Group and third parties.  Syndicate 4444's gross premiums written for 2010 are projected to be in the region of £600 million.

Syndicate 4444 focuses on the following classes of insurance and reinsurance: UK Homeowners and Miscellaneous Property Facilities; UK Commercial Property and Package for the SME sector; Global Direct and Facultative Property Risks; Crisis Management; North American Facilities; Marine, Energy and Engineering; Casualty, including Professional Indemnity, Financial Institutions, General Liability, Accident & Health and Excess Casualty; Treaty Reinsurance including Property, Casualty, Marine and Engineering.

Beazley plc

Beazley plc is the parent company of specialist insurance businesses with operations in Europe, the US, Asia and Australia.  Beazley manages five Lloyd's syndicates and, in 2009, underwrote gross premiums of £1,115.5 million.

Beazley are market leaders in many of its chosen lines, which include professional indemnity, property, marine, reinsurance, accident and life, and political risks and contingency business.

Kiln GROUP

Kiln is an international insurance and reinsurance underwriting group with a portfolio of specialist risks. Since 1962, Kiln has built its business on the strength of its underwriting and its relationships.

Kiln is part of the Tokio Marine Group. Its UK operating company, R J Kiln & Co Limited, currently manages five syndicates at Lloyd’s and, in terms of capacity, is one of the largest agencies trading in the Lloyd’s insurance market. In addition to the UK, Kiln has offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa, Belgium and Brazil.

Kiln is a recognised leader in each of the six main business areas in which it operates: reinsurance, accident and health, aviation, marine, enterprise risk, and property and special lines.

Atrium Underwriting GROUP LIMITED

The Atrium Group is a subsidiary of Ariel Holdings Ltd, a privately held company with consolidated shareholder equity of $1.44 billion as at 31 March 2009.

Atrium Underwriting Group Limited (Atrium)  is a leading specialist insurer at Lloyd's of London. Atrium's expertise is in managing and underwriting specialist insurance and reinsurance business exclusively at Lloyd's.

Atrium Underwriters Ltd manages two syndicates, Syndicate 570 and Syndicate 609. Capital is provided by Ariel and other third parties (Names), 25%/75% respectively.

The Atrium Group combines one of the highest quality managing agencies at Lloyd's with one of the best performing owned underwriting portfolios at Lloyd's.
